Hyena pack, desert hyenas are a predator capable of killing larger prey unlike the lesser hyena which is mostly a scavenger. The desert hyena is mostly nocturnal but will venture out in the twilight hours if it senses an easy kill. They typically wander in packs of 3 to 6 animals and are territorial.
